Peach The Frog

I'm not sure how many people know this about me because I generally am not an animal person, but I am the proud mother of 3 cute little water frogs. (Or I guess I was the proud mother of 3, now there are only 2.) I have to admit I am a little bit of a bad crack frog mother. I sometimes let the habitat get a little dirty, and I don't always remember to feed them every day. (Don't worry, the get fed. My roommates have my back.)

Even with my faults, I do love them. Peach, Melba and Fernando are very important, and I do at least spend a little time every day talking to them and telling them how much I love them.

Last week I was eating breakfast and I noticed that little Peachy wasn't moving. I didn't want to believe that she had died. Luckily Crystal was there to stick something (she won't touch them with her fingers) in the tank and confirm it. I don't think I could have done that part.

I was devastated. I have had my babies for about six months and got quite attached to them. I cried. I decided that the toilet was not the way for my sweet Peachy to go. She needed a real burial. We didn't have a shovel so we scooped out her grave with an ice cream scoop. It made a nice symetrical hole. I liked that and I'm sure Peach did too.

I was very lucky to have Crystal there. I don't think I could have done it alone.

I love you Peachy! Say hi to Grandma for me.

I am truly sorry about your Peachy's demise, but say hi to Grandma for me? Ooo are you okay? Do you need a little mothering?

You've come over from the dark side--you are now officially an animal person like Katie and I!
Yay! Poor Peachy

Those names were very clever...Fernando, Melba & Peach!
How random--but funny...
